Show Notes on Dream a Little Deeper: Cinderella
Cinderella marks an artistic and financial comeback for the Walt Disney Animation Studios. After spending the greater part of the 1940s churning out lesser quality shorts strung together into feature-length films, Walt decides to risk everything to try and redeem his company’s reputation, to become the number 1 animation studio in the United States. Cinderella had a fairly short production schedule and a restrictive budget. However, the film made nearly 8 million dollars, which allowed the studios to complete the two feature length animated films that it had been working on for decades - Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
